Last week was the first week of school. In principles of engineering we did a ton of stuff. On monday we went over the safety rules with Mr. Miller. He taught us how to stay safe in "The Shop". On Tuesday we were split into two groups. I was in the group with Dr. Neat. We played the name game and learned half of our classmate's names. In the name game we had to memorize all the names of the people in front of me, in order. When people didn't know someone's name we called them "Skip". We continued to joke around about "Skip" and it was very funny. On Wednesday and Thursday we worked on a spaghetti bridge. Basically we had to build a bridge out of 20 or less uncooked spaghetti that had to support weight. We still hav 4 more days to do it. On the 6th day we are going to hav our final competition. Our score will be "weight of the water/weight of the bridge". We built two bridges already. One bridge was an actual bridge made out of spaghetti. The second bridge was made out of one spaghetti and the rest wood glue. On friday we spent the whole day trying to work with our websites. We learned tags and how to make our website actually work. We had a lot of wifi problems so we didn't get to do that much on our websites. Almost half of 5th period went into waiting for the wifi to work. The first week of school was not all that bad.
Today is monday. The worst day of the week. To make it even more worse we had to work on our websites with no wifi AGAIN. We spent half of the class trying to figure out what the wifi was doing. People even came to try and fix the wifi. They fixed it for a minute but then it all went bad again. The wifi probles took up the first half of the day, while actually learnign more about our website and typing last week's entry took the second half. Dr. Neat went over almost the same things as he had done on Friday. The wifi problems were a bit better but not that good.
We are closer to Friday than we were yesterday. Today we worked on our websites. The only difference between today and all the other days was that the wifi ACTUALLY WORKED. Our class had never been so happy. We could finally learn about our website in peace. Dr. Neat showed us some more ways to organize and put detail on our websites. This didn't take long. After he was done explaining, we were free to do whatever we wanted on our websites. I typed Monday's entry and started to try to add pictures and moving words and all that. I am also typing about today. By the time class ended I had figured out how to put a picture. I was going to look for a picture to put but I couldn't find any in time. Guess I will have to do it on Thursday.
Today is Wednesday, August 17. Today we worked on our bridges. I feel like my favorite part of this class right now is the bridges. It lets us have fun and enjoy without having to worry about wifi and internet problems. We had a chance to test our bridges today. We tried both of our bridges that we had made. The only problem was that both had tons of glue. The first one was a normal suspension bridge with triangles on the bottom. It got a sad score of 3. Our second bridge wasn't exactly a bridge. It was just glue stuck together in a straight line with one lonely uncooekd piece of spaghetti in the middle. It got a surprising score of around 35. 35 wasn't the best score we could've gotten but it was a massive difference to the first bridge we had. Aftertesting we had some time to make another bridge. We laid out the spaghetti in a longer, but better, stick bridge. We ran out of glue and time so we only had glue on half of it by the time class ended. We decided it might be better to finish it later.
Today we worked on our websites again. The only difference was that we worked on formatting and inserting documents. We were working on the Wednesday Challenge Form. The whole time, we were working on filling out the problem and editing the form. It took a while, but all of us finally did it. I want to say the most hardest part of this was the wifi. It wasn't as bad as other days, but it was really frustrating. Like all the other days, we got to work on our websites after. We fooled around a little bit and I barely got this article up. I hope we work on our bridges tomorrow cz we need to finish it.
Yay!! We worked on our bridges today. We got to our unfished glue bridge, and something bad had happened to it. The glue made the spaghetti all flexible and made it bend upwards. So now the bridge wasnt straight, it was all wonky and stuff. We really didn't mind that a lot, because we knew it was just a test. Also we had realized that we never made a "neat" bridge. By this I mean minimal glue and tons of design. We decided that since that was only gonna be our 3rd test we would spend time on it. We started brainstorming ideas with the spaghetti. We came to a conclusion of a bridge that is just straight but has tons of support in the middle. We put minimal glue ad were waiting for it to dry. We had over 20 minutes left, and we couldn't do anything else, so we were just on our phones watching glue dry.
Today is monday, again. The worst day of the week. I thought it would get even worse because we were going to work on our websites again. I really don't like working on these websites because I think its a little too repetitive and tedious. We started off by finishing, or starting, our unfinished entries. I thought we would learn more ways to spice up our website but instead we were expected to go on a page called FileZilla. The wifi was fine, but FileZilla did not work for some reason. Then we started playing around with Sketchup. It's a new program where u can build 3D models of anything. We looked at an example of a skateboard press. We learned how to use two of the viewing tools and got more familiar with them. Once we were t otally familiar with it, we were supposed to export the image to our desktop. The problem with this was that the 2D picture that got saved onto the desktop was a skeleton and not the actual picture. We found out that there was something wrong when we only had 5 minutes left. Dr. Neato guided the "driver" to change a few options and setting. By the time the bell was about to ring, Dr. Neat had found out how to change it from a skeleton picture to a normal 2D picture. It was fun to work on something other than websites for a day.
Today is Tuesday. We worked on sketchup again. We got more familiar with the viewing tools, and Dr. Neat showed us how to make the image not "skeletal". We then continued to export our pictures. This time it worked. Dr. Neat taught us what tags to use for us to put a picture in our websites. We practiced putting the sketchup pictures on our website. I also looked for a picture that described me or had my name in it. I found one. The whole period we worked on the pictures and sketchup, and we had time only to do one day's entry.

Today is Wednesday. My favorite day in engineering. We get to work on our bridges. Today our bridges failed. We had two bridges that we were going to test. Our first bridge was just a straight bridge with straight spaghetti. Our second bridge was the "complicated" bride we were building. While we were building we used minimal amount of glue. We realized that it was wrong to do. We tried getting it off the wax paper but the outside parts of it broke. The only thing that was holding it together was the one straight bridge in the middle of the bridge that was only made out of glue. We decided to make another bridge but use the broken parts of the two bridges. Both the bridges were super bendy, so we decided to attach them together to make it even more bendy, so the only way our bridge would stop holding more water was that it slid off, and not that it broke.
WE DID MORE WEBSITES TODAY. This is so boring, I wish we could do something other than websites almost every single day. It gets a bit tedious after a while but it is ok. I wouldn't be doing anything other than this for sure. -_-
Today we worked on uploading my website to the cloud. My friend's computer crashed. He had to re-upload it. My computer worked faster than his so I was able to finish it before him. I had to wait for my friend to finish his before I could be free, and join the lecture that Dr. Wilton was presenting. I had time to write this entry while I was waiting. I had to help my friend do it because Jacob, the guy who was helping us, was busy helping another freshman. After we finished uploading our websites, we went to the lecture. Except it wasn't a lecture. Five veterans were showing us their ideas for this years JPL Invention Challenge. I think the idea that won the most supporters was the Kevin Arm, with a funnel. We finished discussing about the ideas and period 5 was over.
We did a lot more of our websites today. It wasn't a lot of fun but luckily we didn't have any wifi problems. I hd to help a few people with HTML but it was really easy.
Today is Tuesday;we would probably have done more BORING websites if the spaghetti challenge wasn't on Thursday. We got to work on our bridges instead. We came to our bridge broken. Almost HALF of the spaghetti that we used were torn off or broken off. We managed to fix it but we only had a day to finish.
Today is Wednesday, just another day to work on our bridges. We found our bridges broken yet again. We were so close to finishing but then all hope was lost. We got 25 extra pieces from Mr. Miller for empathy. We went to work again and when we finished we were on our phones wathcing glue dry.
Yay, its been a month of working on our spaghetti bridges. Luckily today our bridge wasn't vandalized. Everyone was really nervous but everyone did fairly good. We might've been the only group that got disqualified even before the competition started. Our bridge was touching the sides of the cinder block. It is my birthday tomorrow as well, so even though we got disqualified I was fine.
We wroked on our websites again today. Nothing new, everything old.
Today is Wednesday which means another Wednesday Challenge. This challenge we didn't have to build anything or even get up. Our goal was to think of an idea for a machine that would identify a dog from a cat or vice-versa.

Today in the mronign Mr. Miller told us the requirements for our website. He was going to grade them this weekend. We are going to be graded on three components.
1)Content = 60% of grade.
2)Style = 20% of grade.
3)Mechanics = 20% of grade
The FileZilla server crashed but I was able to put my website online before that.
FINALLY, we aren't working on our websites. Instead we are going to be listening to Mr. Wilton and the JPL team talk about their ideas, challenges, and aspects of the invention challenge. They had some pretty cool ideas: the Kevin Arm, a transporter crane, and a belt machine.
Monday is the worst day of the week, luckily we weren't exactly working on websites. We were practicing more on SketchUp. We had to make a city with 25 buildings. I found out that my buildings were about 3 miles high and 2 miles big, but that's not a problem. The whole period we worked on that and a few people, in the end, decided to upload it on their websites.

We worked on SketchUp today as well, but instead of making cities, we had to make an exact jenga block. We were given a jenga block and we had to practice with its dimensions to get the real deal. That was half of the class, the other half Mr. Miller explained to us about the safety course and had us send an an email to him. After him explaining we made more jenga block models.

Today is Wednesday. Another Wednesday Challlenge. Mr. Miller told us this would be our easiest and hardest challenge to do. We had to make a piece of wood two inches long. For our first try we were one of the closest people, for our second try we were even closer to two inches but we never got it exact.
I thought that today we would be working on our websites. I was wrong and right. In the beginning we went to our normal seats and stuff, then Mr. Miller announced we would be continuing our Wednesday Challenge from yesterday. I was confused because we already finished it. Since our team had finished it, we decided to touch the wood up and then have free time. I used the free time to catch up on all of my entries. I had 7 entries to do and I finished them with my free time.
Today is Friday so we are going to do JPL invention challenge overview. Today instad of just talking we actualy got to see their "inventions". We tested them and the invention that worked the best was Alvin's. Even though he did violate almost every rule his invention worked the best.
I thoguht we were goint o do more websites today but guess what, WE DIDN'T. Instead we went into the shop and used their computers. Only 6 people had signed up for the safety course, and there were 6 computers...PERFECT. Mr. Miller told us to read and watch a video.. The video was only like 10 minutes long so we finished early and were really bored.
Today a speaker from Skillify came to speak with us. She came to speak with us on friday as well in my science class. She talked about the same thing: better internships, future success, talking, blah blah blah. So ya I told the speaker to sign me up for it again, because I did it on Thursday as well, but I forgot to sign up. I'm not sure if I'm actually going to do it or not but I guess I'll see.
Today is Wednesday so we have another WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE. Today's wednesday challenge was a lot of fun. We had 10 minutes to discuss for a plan. Our goal was to make a marble go into a bag with every person in a group holding a cut off pipe. When it was time to discuss my group, team 1, did not come up with any strategies at all. We fooled around and had fun. When we actually went outside to do the challenge, we kept on failing until I told our leader to make the marble go slower and keep the pipes more straighter. After that we had more successes. The other team got their first marble in before us, but we got the second and thrid marble in before them. We still lost but it was a lot of fun.
Today we are working on our websites. Dr. Neato shwoed us the requirements for our website as he was going to grade them this weekend. I panicked because I was not up to date with a lot fo my entries. Luckily, i had enough time to get up to date.

Today is the last day we can work on our websites before it is graded. I'm so close to finsihing, I just don't know how to do one thing. We also had the JPL Invention Challenge thing today. Not many people payed aatention to them since we were all panicking about their website. I just have to put two pictures in.
Today is Monday and we got our website results back. I was pretty nervous because I had totally forgotten about it. Luckily for me, I had the second highest score in the class. A whole 9.7 out of 10. I was pretty impressed. Dr. Neato took the whole period discussng about the grades and points and all. He decided to leave some stuff out for grading because not many eople had all of them and he didn't want to mark people down for what he didn't explain well.
The requirements for the website: Requirements for WebsiteToday is Tuesday and I didn't work on my website at all. Dr. Neato showed us a video on SpaceX's exploding rocket. Well he didn't actually show it to us he just had it in the back while we could do whatever we wanted. We found out that the Falkon 9 exploded because of some mistake. After the video was done we discussed the video and the mistakes and all. By the time we finished all of that we had like 7 minutes to work on our websites. I decided not to because I didn't think it was enough time.
Wednesdays mean Wednesday Challenges. This challenge would be our quarter final. We would have to make an arch bridge out of one material. And the building blocks we would use would have to be somewhat similar. Our score would be deterined by the equation of Span of bridge/Longest length of a building block. You also can't use any type of adhesive or locking mechanism. It's pretty complicated but we will hopeflly be able to do it. We started with lookign up arch bridges. We learned what they were and that we would need a keystone (if you pull that piece out the whole bridge falls). We thought of legos but of course it wasn't allowed. We brainstormed a lot of ideas but a lot of them would take too long or would need adhesive. We decided to talk about it tomorrow when we worked on it together.
Thursday we did the same thing. Except today one of our team mebers was absent; Raul. We really did not know what to do. We thought we had a really good idea where we would use straws and cut slits into them. We would put eachother inside eachother and just keep building because it builds an arch anyways. Midway through testign it I asked Dr.Neato if that was good. He said we couldnt do that. So then we had nothing to do. We just sat there thinkign of ideas until the bell rang. Today wasn't so efficient.
Friday means JPL. Except today we were allowed to work on oru websites while they were talking. A lot of people were working on their websites and a lot of them weren't listening. Most of the ideas were basically the same. When I tuned in to listen I didn't hear anything much diffeent. I got to do all my entries for the week so I had tons of fun -_-. At least I finished this week's website work *sigh*.
We didn't do websites today yay. We did our wednesday challenge, or our Quarter Final. Our team still had no idea what material or anything we were going to use to build our arch bridge. We were pretty behind and had no idea hat to do next. Towards the end of the period we were thinking about circular shapes becuase they form natural curves. Then we saw the tennis balls on the bottom of the table chairs. That gave us an idea. We were going to use tennis balls for our material. We all decided to bring tennis balls the next day.
Today is Tuesday so we would've naturally done our websites but THANK GOD we didn't. We worked on our arch bridges. Me and Raul forgot to bring tennis balls, but thankfully evan and david remembered. We didn't have enough tennis balls to make a bridge but our idea worked. We would stack semi-tennis balls and make a natural curve.
Today we realized that we would need one piece for the keystone. We were originally going to use two semicircles just stopping eachtoher from falling. But we needed ONE and ONLY ONE keystone, so we thought about that. We spent most of the day cutting new tennis balls in half. Tomorrow was the competition day and we didn't have enough tennis balls so we were goign to have to cut them at home and bring them tomorrow.
On the 6th everything was going normal and perfect until I almost broke my foot. While playing tennis i stepped on a tennis ball and fell and almost hairline-fractured my foot. So I was out for 4-6 period and couldn't see oru tennis bridge fail.
Today is Friday and I have to stay at home doing nothing. I got so bored becuase I wasn't alowed to play any sports, allI could do was sit somewhere and play videogames. Which was fine except for the fact it got really boring for 4 days. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I was out becuase of my foot.
My first day back to school after 5 days. I have so much homework. Luckily, a lot of my teachers are giving me extra days to finish it. Today we did Sketchup. We first had to make a structure out of jenga blocks. I made stairs. After that we had to make the jenga block curvy becuase a real jenga block doesn't have sharp edges.

Today is Wednesday and possibly the most fun wdensday challenge ever. We have to build a house of cards. Rules are: no bending or folding any of the cards. We have to first draw a sketch of the house and then we have to estimate its height. I don't want to spoil what we did so I'm gonna leave the information and our strategy to the form.
I got taken by surprise when Mr. Miller called me and my arch bridge team into the shop. We were supposed to do the first part of the shop assessment. I had already done most of it so all I had to do was write the paragraph. After, we started to mark a metal piece. We were going to cut it later.
Every Friday we have JPL. Today we had to go into the shop to see some of the inventions. They were to big to move to the main classroom. We saw two of the inventions in action and two that was almost done.
We went into the shop today to finish what we started. The rest of the class was working on a pencil sketchup, while we were cutting metal in the shop. After we were done we helped some veterans on their invention challenge .
I had to do so much today. I was in the shop when the whole class was making sketchups of the card and pencil. I only got to finish the card today and the penicl was a disaster. I have to finish it by friday or I get a 0 on it.

Today we got to go to school today at 11:20. I was so happy I got to sleep in today. I thought we wouldnt do a wednesday challenge but i thought wrong. Today we had two days for our challenge. We have to make a right triangle out of straws. The whole class decided to team up so everyone would get an A. But there's always one group: Lucas' group. I worked on my website the whole time.
I came into engineering today at lunch so I could finish my website. I started with my penil sketchup and successfully finished it. Now the rest of the period we are going to do more websites and right triangles.

Today we went over the wednesday challenge and the websites. The website grades aren't up yet but they should be up by tomorrow. We went over every flaw and good of each 5 groups. Our group MegaForce got 4th. The whole period was spent in doing that. Luckily I don't have a next period today because I have to go to a dentist appointment.
Today is Tuesday and I did nothing at all. I was all up to date until today. So all I had to do was today's entry. The rest of the class also did entries today for the whole day. Nevermind, Dr. Neato gave me a red lego block to do sketchup of. I finished and then I realized one of my dimensions were wrong. I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. I HAD TO RESTART> I couldn't start it again so I just gave up. I would do it another day.
This Wednesday we have a festive wednesday challenge. We were given 10 candy corn and two sheets of paper. We had to find out how many candy corn fit in one paper while they are standing upright. There were no rules except cheating.
Today we worked on our lego blocks again. I had to start over. My lego block was red. We had to make it hollow as well. I finished with a lto fo time elft. I didn't know what to do since my website was fully updated.
Today is Friday and we had to listen to the JPL groups. For two of the groups we were inside and for the others we were in the shop. We first saw the Sketchup of the Trash Truck Invention. Then we saw the vacuum Invention. It didn't work great, until they got suggestions. After we went into the shop and saw the Kevin Arm it wasn't as fast as it was supposed t obe but it didn't work great. We also saw Cole's Invention. We didn't see it work but we saw it all designed.
If today wasn't Halloween then I would hate this monday. First of all, I made my own costume. It took a long time but i finished it last night. When i got to school it broke apart and i decided not to "wear" it. Then in first epriod we saw Bob's Burgers. In second period i played bball. In third period we saw a video and made slime, but we weren't allowed to take it home. In 4th period we wrote our own creative story. Then in 5th period we got to see people get scared by an automatic foot next to candy. We also saw the Tacoma Bridge collapse. Dr. Neato made a presentation on the Tacoma Bridge. We didn't finish it but we should finish it later.
Today we are supposed to do a sketchup on the Lego Block. Since I have already finished that, I have to do the back of the Lego Block which sucks. The whole period I will have to do the Lego Block.
Today is wednesday so we are doing a wednesday challenge. This time Dr. Neato had students be judges. Rohin, Evan, and David were the judges. Our challenge was to design a letter E in sketchup. That was the first step. Our second step would be to make a letter E that another team designed. Today we made a letter E in sketchup with really easy dimensions so that we would be able to win with our sketchup and the other teams model.
We carried on the challenge to today, Thursday, because we didn't have enough time to finish it yesterday. We were team 9 and we got a sketchup from team 11. Their measurments were crazy, it was like 3/4 of an inch or like 2.2 inches or 1.5 inches. It was not fun to make. We finished tracing it and then cut it out. I was happy to be done with it. The period ended as we turned our E in.
Today I didn't go to school because I had to go get braces. At first when they put the braces in, it didn't hurt. Then I got home and died. I couldn't go back to school or leave the house because of how much it was hurting. I missed the day of school and the JPL engineer thing today.
First, we went over the website grades and stuff. I was absent on Friday so i couldn't finish my website, but i still got 9.9 points out of 10. I got lucky. After we went over the website grades we were told to get into our WC group. Remember how I said we got another sketchup model. Well everyone was supposed to be in a group of 6, but we had three teams on our table. There was an extra team and so Dr. Neato put us into a group of 9. We decided to use our sketchup with the other teams design.
Today we did nothing. We all workied on catching up to today. I overheard Dr. Neato telling my other friend to be a judge for tomorrow's WC. Apparently its a really easy challenge using the scale. I caught up to today and I even managed to work on the back of that lego block.
Today is a Wednesday. I was right, today's wednesday challenge included a scale. We were supposed to find out a ratio from two different sets of weights and then go measure and see if we were right. The winner would be who measure dit the most accurately and had the closest estimated and measured ratio.
Since we don't have school tomorrow we made this Thursday into a JPL Friday. Like always, Mr.Wilton was there. He gave ideas and suggestions to the JPL groups. We stayed in the room for half the class then we went to the shop for the other half.
Today we are just workin gon our websites. dr. Neato came around to check if we had our Wednesday Challenges and Lego Blocks. I had all of it done so I only need to do today's entry and I would have the res tof the period free.
Today I got my laptop out for no reason. Mr. Miller called me and my arch bridge group to work in the shop. I had to put my laptop away as soon as I logged in. In the shop we spent about 20 minutes thinking of hat to make. We finally decided to make a samll drawer and box mixed for dr. neato to keep small stuff in. I don't remeber the dimensions though. The bell rang just as wewere finishing up cutting an aluminum bar.
Today's Wednesday challenge was not an actual competition. Today Mr. Miller made our challenge. We had to use adhesive to keep two tabs of aluminum together. We would use sheer force to break them apart. We had an apparatix to test it. The maximum weight we could use was 16 pounds, 2 milk gallons.
The whole day we were to work on our websites and wednesday challenge. Lucas' computer broke, so he lost all his progress. Yay! Nevermind he was all updated on FileZilla so nothing was lost. Dang it!. I worked more on my website and tried to finish everything so that I wouldnt have to stress about it tomorrow.
I was supposed to come to school today. But i had an urgent dentist appointment. I had not known that it was today so I was not prepared for any of my classes. I went to the dentist early in the morning. My mom made me go to first and second period because my second peroiod is PE, and I have a bad grade in it. The dentist appointment lasted until 1 o clock and started and 10:30. After 1 my teeth were hurting really bad. I had gotten braces on the top of my teeth. I didn't go to school as it hurt a lot.
THANKSGIVING. I am not thankful for anything. Not my house, not my family, not my car, not my friends, nothing. Just kidding! On the Saturday, I did nothing for half the day. The other half I went to my friend's house to stay the night. We played GTA V and NBA 2k17. I stayed at his house until 4 in the afternoon. I went home and then my mom told me to get ready again. I had to go to another one of my friend's house. Once we got to his house we went to Dave N' Busters. One of my friends got enugh tickets to get a speaker. After we went to Blaze Pizza to eat with some of my other friends. After Blaze we went to LCHS and played basketball until 11 in the night. I slept over again at another one of my friends house that day. The next morning we played more videogames and had a breakfast. My mom came to pick me up and then the rest of the day I played games. The next day, Tuesday, I had to go to my cousin's workplace to help him out. He needed help packing and shipping boxes that were full of diamonds (my cousin had his own jewelery company). I did homework the rest of my free time. I went to his house after and we walked around USC and ate. My cousin lives right next to USC so he can go there whenver he wants to. I slept over at his house that night and did the same exact thing on wednesday, helped him and did my homework. This time we went to my house and we chilled and went to CV to play tennis. The next day I did nothing. One of my ther friend came over to my house for the night. We played a ton of videogames. The next morning, Friday, he had to go early in the morning. That day was Black Friday and as everyone does, I went shopping. Except I only wet o one palce. This is because all of my morning was busy and the only time I had was at 6. Before that I had looked up how much the xbox one was and compared it to different stores ad services. I found an xbox one for 30$ on Ebay. It was new and looking at everything I found out it was legit. I was so happy. After I went to Gamestop and bought 6 games for the xbox one. One of my friends came over that night to stay over. He left he next day at 3 and then my mom's brother came home. We relaxed for a bit and then we went to a car dealer and bought a car. We went to CPK after. On Sunday I did a lot of homework and did a lot of other things.
Today Dr. Neato presented us with another sketchup. We were supposed to make a sketchup of our arch bridge. Since our bridge was made of tennis balls and making a semisphere was hard, Dr. Neato made a semisphere for us and all we would have to do is rotate it to make a bridge.
The JPL team showed us all their failures today. The competition was last to last Saturday. All the teams failed. None of them were able to get to the championship. Kevin's arm was the only one who could have. They were really close. They were one team off.
We had our Wednesday Challenge today. It was another one of those random team pairing. We had to build a tower using graham crackers, pretzels, and marshmallows. Our sketchup didn't include pretzels. Here is what we did.
Yesterday we did the sketchup of our tower, today we are building. We got the sketchup from Jon, Jesse, and Sona's team. It was unbuildable. We couldn't even do one set without it falling over. Here is what happened.
On Friday Dr. Neato was absent so we watched MythBusters. We saw two episodes. One episode was based on a car crash and racing a toy car and real car. The other was about yawning. It was an amaizng day ._.
Today was monday and as usual we just worked on our websites. Someone had taken my laptop so I wasn't able to work on it. I played on my phone since I couldn't do anything. Also today we found out who won the Marshmallow, Graham Cracker, and Pretzel Wednesday challenge. We got DQ for some reason. We didn't know why but we obviously didn't win. Towards the end of the period Dr. Neato explained to us the Final for the class. It was the JPL Challenge. He put us into groups. I was in the group with Malik, AJ, and Armen. We proposed ideas today.
We continued proposing ideas today. We learned that AJ was the best from us in make sketchups. We assigned him the roe of doing the sketchup. The thign was, AJ was more interested in his website than the Final. We didn't get anything done today.
We actually thought of an idea today. We planned on making our device human powered which would mean 2 meters distance. Our idea was to build a pole and slide the glass along it using a rope. Unfortunately, Dr. Neto clarified a lot of rules today, and we found out our design would have gotten DQ. We basically couldn't think of anythign else. So again, we didn't get anything done today.
Since we were getting nowhere with our ideas we just decided to use a Kevin Arm basically. We had AJ make the sketchup of it while Malik And I were looking up videos on how to power it.
AJ was continuing on finishing the sketchup today while me and Malik were still finding ways to power it (and playing games). Sad to say, Armen didn't help us at all. AJ finished the sketchup today and we were going to use weights to power our Arm.
We went into the shop today. We had to find pieces of wood to make our design with. This took almost half of the period. We sketched the design we wanted so we could easily cut it when we would cut it. After we found the materials we needed we had to wait for our turn in cutting the wood. We waited all period but our turn never came.
Today we ran to the shop and still weren't able to ge tthere first. We waited for 30 minutes before we did any cutting. The machine we were using to cut wood gave off sawdust and it actually smelled pretty good. But we coughed a lot. We got through half of the wood we needed to cut and then the bell rang.
Today I decided to work on my website. I was really behind so I had to catch up. Since my group only had to cut the wood I decided they didn't need me. I told them to call me if they did. I managed finishing all my entries. I still have to work on the wednesday challenges and the sketchups but I will hopefully finish that on Monday. After I finished all my entries I decided to go into the shop to help. I was right, they didn't need my help. But i was really bored form typing so I stayed there and watched people cut wood.
